Confessions of an Overcomer
michael smith Dec.2008

Last week we spoke of how this time of year we celebrate the birth of Jesus and how that birth was God's plan of redemption being birthed at the appointed time.

Today I would like to speak of how having accepted Jesus as the savior of our world, how we can walk in that plan of redemption.

Eph. says we were lost and our minds were darkened and we were without understanding. However now that Christ has come into our life. We must now learn to think differently. To process the things of God differently. To learn to hear God's voice and obey.

We do have a enemy though who would have us stay in our darkened understanding. Who would try and keep us excluded from a life of victory, power and joy.

So the devil attacks our passions and our identify so we will miss our destiny or calling. If the devil can get us to shrink back into doubt, discouragement and unbelief he knows we will give up trying and settle for a defeated and meaningless existence.

We end up with religious clothing without the power and joy rightfully due us from our God.

Due to the devils influence we choose to believe that if finances, relationships, healing etc. is withheld then God must not be for me. That God does not love me. That victory in Christ is not for me.

Nothing could be farther from the truth. Could it be God is teaching us how to walk as men and women of God. If we are to be overcomers we need something to overcome. Something to train on.

We do speak things into being though even without realizing it like doubt, fear or unbelief. Statements like God does not love me, etc.

As we enter this upcoming new year we need to decide this new year will be different in the way we walk with God.

I will choose to believe God and His word to me and will walk into the destiny God has for me.

We are commanded to speak God's life into areas of darkness.
Speak into existence that which does not exist as though it does
exist.

Psa. 81:10 "I, the LORD, am your God, Who brought you up from the land of Egypt, Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.

Matt. 5:2 He opened His mouth and began to teach them, saying,

Why say He opened His mouth? Why not just say He began to teach them?

Listen to this scriptures.

Rom. 10:8 But what does it say? "THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, in your mouth and in your heart"-that is, the word of faith which we are preaching,
Rom. 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
Rom. 10:10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in
salvation.

Acts 15:7 ,,,,,, that by my mouth the Gentiles would hear the word of the gospel and believe.

Acts 8:35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture he preached Jesus to him.

Acts 10:34 Opening his mouth, Peter said:

3
Acts 1:16 "Brethren, the Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit foretold by the mouth of David concerning Judas,

Acts 3:18 "But the things which God announced beforehand by the mouth of all the prophets,

Acts 4:25 who by the Holy Spirit, through the mouth of our father David Your servant, said,

Matt. 17:27 "However, so that we do not offend them, go to the sea and throw in a hook, and take the first fish that comes up; and when you open its mouth, you will find a shekel. ( a thing of value ) Take that and give it to them for you and Me."

Are you taking that which the Lord has provided you and given it forth from your mouth for you and for Jesus?

Speak to the passions or callings that lay dormant in your life or those you love. Speak to the dead bones and command life to enter.

Speak it over your finances, children, spouses and circumstances. Call forth life. Speak God's word over them.

Confession of the mouth results in salvation. It has a result.

John 12:49 "For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak.
John 12:50 "I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me."

This year will be one of change, an opportunity of new beginnings.

Let us decide we will make the necessary changes in our lives, so that God may open the windows of heaven over us.

Let us speak and declare God's faithfulness and goodness over our lives and over those we love, over there healing, salvation etc.

Let us begin this year by getting into God's presence, In His word and being quiet before Him in prayer.

And as we are in His presence let us listen and then go forth speaking that which we hear.

Choose this day, this year, life.

Over the past year we have been hearing messages from from God on how to challenge the lies presented to us from the devil.

This new year I believe God is speaking to us to fight the battle of the mind of who we are in Christ.

To speak forth God's righteousness into any given circumstance.

To declare and walk in our rightful calling as men and women of the most high.

Let us choose this day to begin, speak life, speak life.

Speak forth God's word. Declare it !!!!!
