Why did Jesus Come?
Before the fall of man. God the father had walked in fellowship with adam and eve in the garden.
After man fell God had a distant relationship with man through sacrifices of animals which could never take away fully man's sin so God could have true fellowship with us.
He long for a relationship with His creation.
At the appointed moment in time an angel went forth.
Luke 1:26 ¶ Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city in Galilee called Nazareth,
Luke 1:27 to a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, of the descendants of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.
Luke 1:28 And coming in, he said to her, "Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you."
Luke 1:29 But she was very perplexed at this statement, and kept pondering what kind of salutation this was.
Luke 1:30 The angel said to her, "Do not be afraid,
Mary; for you have found favor with God.
Luke 1:31 "And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus.
Luke 1:32 "He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David;
Luke 1:33 and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end."
Luke 1:34 Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I am a virgin?"
Luke 1:35 The angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God.
Luke 2:8 ¶ In the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields and keeping watch over their flock by night.
Luke 2:9 And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened.
Luke 2:10 But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people;
Luke 2:11 for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
Luke 2:12 "This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."
Luke 2:13 And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,
Luke 2:14 "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased."
Our world was visted by God Himself, Emmanuel
He came that He might redeem a people for His own possession.
He wanted a people to walk in the garden with, to sing over, to dance over and who would love Him by their own choice.
We need to rejoice because Christ was born.
That He would leave the greatness of heaven to come here to redeem us from our sins and reconcile us to God our Father.
And we receive this precious and wonderful gift by faith and faith alone.
If God had such a great plan of sending His only begotten Son. Surely He must continue to have a plan of perfecting us until we see Him face to face.
If all that is true and it is, why is we find fault with another, a person who Christ came for as well?
When a teacher takes a group of children on a field trip. The teacher is wanting to take them on an adventure that they have yet to experience. But the children on the bus are busy arguing, making fun of one another, cutting up, distracted, etc.
Do we like the children on the bus not see the adventure before us and become entangled in bickering, unforgiveness, anger, selfishness etc.?
If we are the body of Christ being prepared for the great wedding feast in heaven shall we resist Him who by His Holy spirit is making us ready to reign with Him forever?
Gen. 4:3 - 7
Let us embrace our differences and trust God with those who we struggle with for whatever reason.
God having redeem us, wants to take us on an adventure as well. That He might reveal Himself to us and that we discover who we are in Him.
God so loved the world He gave His only begotten,,,,,,,,,,
Let us learn to walk in love with one another.
Jesus came that we might have a relationship with Him and the Father.
Not knowing Him through books of law.
But that each one of us might be able to go boldly to the throne of grace and sit in our Fathers lap to love and be loved by Him.
This is the good news, this is Emmanuel. This is God with us.
And as we walk out this process we are changed into His image from Glory to Glory by faith.
Rom. 8:29 For those whom He fore knew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;
And who are the many brethren? All of us.
We have an opportunity to share the great news of Jesus by our walk this Christmas season.
Lets not forget the real reason for the season.
Christ came to reveal how much the Father loves us and to redeem us to Himself.
Let us share that, for that is great news!!!!!
