Hey my friends at the Tab,

Just wanted you to put me on your prayer list to pray for my job interview for next week/following week. I have applied for the Assistant Recreation Directors' job in Ormond Beach (where I live) and was just told today from a friend who works in that department that I'm 1 of 7 people they are going to interview (over 90 people applied).

So I'm hoping that this position is the one the Lord has planned for me. I'm at peace with it and would appreciate prayer for wisdom as well as wisdom during the interview. Finally, pray for God's will to be done and for favor with the Director who will be interviewing me. I have met him a few times and he attends an earlier service at the church I attend, but I don't know his spiritual status. But then again do we ever know anyones?

I hope you are all well and may God continue to bless each one of you as you serve Him. He's coming back soon! Amen!

Continually trusting,

Victory Report Amazon Advance May 2009

Precious Prayer Warriors everywhere !

PRAISE

Because many around the world prayed, the 10/40 Window is being taken for Jesus, and now, because YOU prayed, the remaining 200-some Nations in the Amazon will SOON be reached ! I never want to try to put any date (the Bible doesn’t) for this huge event, but I can foresee that in 2.5 to 3 years all those 200 Nations in the Amazon may have heard the Gospel ! This became so clear to me when I pondered the wondrous works the Lord had done for us during the March-April time in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I had planned at least 6 months accomplish the objectives: 1. a training center, 2. an administrator, 3. meet with key pastors from the outskirts of the Amazon area to pass on the vision to them. GOD DID THAT IN LESS THAN 4 WEEKS ! So, is it really that close that we may see the Lord Jesus in the clouds. I believe He will come soon, don’t you ?

PLEASE PRAY for the immediate need (we still need to raise some funds for our

Seminary in Umariasu, Brazil), about $ 2,500 is the estimated cost for the Seminary that starts in less than 3 weeks. We expect about 50 returning students.

Here’s an other very encouraging PRAISE item: all the time when we’ve asked for help to finance our Seminaries, or other activities, the exact amount has arrived, many times in the last minute, but we have never had to turn anyone away due to financial lack ! Isn’t that just like our God ! What a loving and caring God we serve ! Thank you for praying !

Also, PRAY for Barbro and me, Roland, as we are in Sweden for a couple of months. Pray for health (health checks coming up in June) and for key-contacts for the Kingdom.

PRAY – BOMBARD Heaven with prayers for the August Missions Conference in Campinas, S.P., Brazil :

Pray that all the key-pastors and leaders around the entire Amazon delta will participate.

Pray for the Holy Spirit to so anoint the whole event that the result will be a quick move of God to evangelize ALL the remaining Tribes/Nations in the Amazon.

Pray also to the “Lord of Harvest to call out workers”, Indians, that are the ones who will be trained by us and sent out and supported by the churches involved

With joy and gratitude, Roland & Barbro Silen

PRAISE and PRAY for “Gordy” & Kathy who have undertaken the huge job of making and sending out our Newsletters ! They do an awesome job !

For donations: Mercy Air, POB 460, Golden, MS 38847 (make check to: “Mercy Air”)

Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to update you as we near the end of the year. I'm off to camp for two weeks as FIT students finish finals this week. I'm excited to share with you what God has done over the semester from the students own testimonies once I get back from camp.

As you think about it, pray for our time at camp (www.ivsoutheast.com). Students from all over the southeast will be coming to SharpTop Cove in Jasper, GA for the next two weeks (Florida Tech will be here May 9th-14th). Pray that they would be transformed by and given vision for campus from Jesus while they are in Leadership Track, Small Group Leader Track, Kingdom Life Track, The Call or Old Testament Experience Track. Pray for Florida Tech students the 9th-14th as they participate in the SGL Track, that God would give them a vision for seeing His word, people and mission permeate the campus. Pray for Danna, Jekhari and Jalissa as I'm away from home. Finally, pray for me as I serve as one of the worship leaders for the camp, to discern what God is doing and how He wants to connect with students and the teaching assignments I have (Genesis 1-3 in OTE and Shepherding in SGL track).

Thanks so much for your partnership and prayers for these students. God is at work before, during and after we pray. Eternal things are happening and your prayers are a part of that.

Dear Joan,
Thank you for joining in prayer for Thailand. I will shortly be writing
a "Great Commission Prayer Focus bulletin for our church to use this
Sunday. I would like to quote the prayer you wrote in full or in part,
in order to help our people see a clear example of how to pray for
Thailand.

On a further personal note--as you know from our letters, our daughter
and son in law have adopted a Lao baby boy. The paper work is in
process but they are already his legal guardians. However--they will
not be able to leave Laos with him until the paper work is completed.
You can see how we are very personally concerned that there be peace in
their neighboring country on which all of Laos depends so much. That
put an additional urgency for us personally, but even without that
personal element, we are very concerned for the work of the kingdom in
the whole region.
In His grace
Edith
ps; I had lots of Grandma time to cuddle little Nico the past 3 weeks
there and thank the Lord that I could. here's a photo

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for asking for an update. It is very encouraging to know how many are praying and burdened for this campus, these students and this outreach.

Overall I think it went pretty well. Many IV students had some very good conversations with those who answered "no" to the question, "Did Jesus rise from the dead?" One student Tim, talked with a brother from his fraternity for almost an hour about the evidence for the resurrection. Steve, a self-proclaimed atheist, agreed and came to Tim's Bible study this past Monday as they finish studying Luke. Keep praying for Steve that God would open his eyes to his need for Jesus. Pray also that God would reveal himself in the the few weeks left in the study and for Steve and Tim's continued relationship.

Another surprising trend we saw were the amount of "yes's". We soon began to include in our conversation with the "yes's", "How did you come to that conclusion?" We had a pamphlet that had several descriptions of where people might be including searching, having made a faith commitment, growing and finally, living missionally. Please be praying for this group of students that the truth of the resurrection would change them the way it changed the disciples and eventually the world.

Today, April 15th, we will be having the station again from noon to 4pm. Pray for us to have boldness, discernment and wisdom in speaking to other students. Pray also for humility as we share the truth of who Jesus is and what He did. Thanks again for praying and your continued prayers as we seek to share the facts about the resurrection and the hope that Jesus gives.

Hi dear praying friends.

May this weekend bring you a new sense of all that our Father in Heaven has done for us in His Son and through His Spirit. What a wonder that we are participants in this great, eternal love affair!

When the Lord reminds you, pray for our ABBA team this weekend as we retreat from the city to a camp ground about two hours from here. This is an annual event that gives us a time to be together for several days just as friends and team mates. We have farmed out most of the kids to church families (pray for them too!) and the ones who couldn't go are at the houses with volunteers.

There are 40 of us in all with kids and a cook and the pastor and his wife who will bring devotional messages.

We are tired and stressed and relationships are a little raw in places. Ask the Lord to be the oil of healing on us as His body.

Thank you for standing with us.

We appreciate you deeply.

Dear Friends,

We need your continued prayer for the shipping and clearing. A delay of the cargo ship has put the arrival date of the 4 New Testaments back from the 8th to the 24th of March - TODAY. If the boat arrives, this will give less time for the clearing and transport of the New Testaments to the dedication sites by the 11th of April.

Would you pray for our coworker Alex Dotse, a speaker of Tuwuli (one of the four translated languages), to have grace and favor in the eyes of the customs and clearing agents at the port. How he would love to see his New Testament on its dedication day!

Would we change the dedication dates? Probably not. Many people have travel plans, and we are hoping to receive five copies of each New Testament here in Willow Street, PA, which we can take on the 7th of April to Ghana for the dedications. As yet, we have not received these copies, but we are have heard they were sent from Korea at the beginning of February, and are expected to arrive here in the first week of April.

Money has been provided for clearing costs from one of the project's donors. Our heart-felt thanks to all who have given and prayed through the years to make these wonderful Bibles possible. Our Ghanaian friends would say, "May God repair and refill the hole in your pocket!"

Love from your team members,

Dear praying people.

We need your spiritual artillery support this morning with the girls again. They had a rough weekend. There was rebellion at church and in the house. One of the girls broke the chain (a rather flimsy one) and the money box has disappeared. The staff is tired, the girls are tired, and the situation doesn~t seem to be getting any better. We may call the police.

I keep thinking that "our warfare is not the warfare of the world"

Pray for the pulling down of strongholds in their lives and in the lives of their families.

We are really at a loss as to what to do. We need a breakthrough.

Thank you for really praying. It makes a difference.
